Tonight on TV: Time to catch up on that rom-com you probably missed at the movies

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: William Lebghil torn between friendship and love.

After working for seven years in the development department of Gaumont, Victor Saint Macary decided to go into directing. It begins with a short film, titled Father in lawbefore going full-length, in 2018, with Ami-ami.

The aspiring director is inspired by his years of roommates with his best friend, when they were in their twenties, and in particular the perplexity of those around them about their unambiguous friendship. Encouraged by his producer Pierre Guyard, Victor Saint Macary digs into this vein, questioning the friendship between man and woman through the story of Vincent and Néféli.

The first is devastated by his latest breakup, the second is a crazy young lawyer. Both swear never to fall in love again, to live only friendship and one-night stands. But after a few weeks of friendly and festive cohabitation, Vincent meets Julie…

Victor Saint Macary thus delivers a film in tune with the times, possessing all the qualities of a romantic comedy that is both funny and sensitive: a modern staging, crisp dialogues, and above all an endearing cast. The actor William Lebghil revealed by the series Soda, plays here his very first role in the cinema, alongside Margot Bancilhon and Camille Razat, with whom he forms an irresistible trio.

At Miami by Victor Saint Macary with William Lebghil, Margot Bancilhon, Camille Razat…
