It was in the mid-2000s that Chadwick Boseman managed to make a name for himself, becoming one of the rising stars of the small screen thanks to appearances in CSI: Manhattan, New York Police Judiciaire, Cold Case: Cases Classified, Emergencies , Lie To Me, Back to Lincoln Heights and Persons Unknown.
On the cinema side, the actor directed two short films (“Blood Over a Broken Pawn” and “Heaven“), then chained the biopics (The Express, 42, Get On Up). His career took a major turn in 2016 when he was chosen to slip into the skin of the superhero Black Panther in the MCU. in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame, both directed by the Russo brothers, he also enjoys his solo film in 2018.
In 2019, Chadwick Boseman collaborates once again with Anthony and Joe Russo who produce Manhattan Lockdown. Alongside Sienna Miller, the actor plays Inspector Davis, ready to isolate the island of Manhattan for a whole night to corner two cop killers during a hellish chase. The actor thus reconnects with the thriller genre after having played in Message from the King in 2017, where he lent his features to a badass police officer in charge of elucidating the murder of his sister.
Directed by Brian Kirk, to whom we owe many episodes of prestigious series such as Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones or Luther, Manhattan Lockdown is a good surprise, and above all an opportunity to see the talented and late Chadwick Boseman, deceased following colon cancer in 2020. Still in theaters since November 9, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which has just exceeded 3 million admissions in France, also pays him a final tribute.
