Tonight on TV: when Monica Bellucci and Kad Merad were a couple

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. This evening: a choral comedy by Danièle Thompson.

Queen of the choral film (La Bûche, Orchestra seats, The Code has Changed), Danièle Thompson directed a fourth in 2013, entitled Des gens qui s’embrasez. The director is inspired by an observation made in Saint-Tropez: on the one hand, she observes the followers of a noisy life, punctuated by parties, and on the other, those who seek quiet corners in the silence of pine forests.

Through the characters of two brothers separated by everything – trades, women, religious austerity of one, joie de vivre of the other – and whose conflicts gradually worsen, People kissing each other thus explores the cultural shocks within the same family, giving pride of place to the confrontation of the lifestyles of each. The tension is based in particular on the verbal contests between Zef (Éric Elmosnino) and Roni (Kad Merad).

And who says choral film, says merry band of actors: in addition to Valérie Bonneton, Christian Hecq, Alexis Michalik or the young talents Lou de Laâge, Clara Ponsot and the humorist Max Boublil, we also find the actress Monica Belluci, who lends her features to the wife of Kad Merad.
