Tonight on TV: when the star of The Devil Wears Prada prepares for her wedding… the same day as her best friend!

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: an American comedy with Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway.

Spotted in the sitcom The Green Family, Anne Hathaway was chosen by Disney studios to play the heroine of the family comedies Princess in Spite of Her and its sequel A Princess’ Wedding.

Thanks to the commercial success of these films, the actress allowed herself to expand her acting range with a secondary role in the critically acclaimed drama The Secret of Brokeback Mountain.

It was not until 2006 that Anne Hathaway was truly propelled to the forefront thanks to The Devil Wears Prada, where she starred alongside Meryl Streep. Subsequently, the actress regularly distinguished herself in the genre of romance, whether tragic as in Jane, or comic as in Best Enemies.

In 2009, Anne Hathaway actually played opposite Kate Hudson, specialist in the genre (Adam serial lover, Divorce, How to get dumped in 10 lessons, You and me… and Duprée, My best friend’s friend…), under under the leadership of Gary Winick.

Seduced by the theme of friendship, the director brings to the screen the story of Emma and Liv, two best friends, one a renowned lawyer, the other a rather reserved teacher, who will engage in a merciless war when they realize that their wedding ceremony is scheduled for the same day.

At its output, Best enemies brought in $115 million in revenue worldwide, for a production budget of $30 million.

Best enemies by Gary Winick with Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Bryan Greenberg…
