After Computer Madness, discover another adventure of young Dexter Riley (Kurt Russell): The Strongest Man in the World. In this third episode, the young man is relegated to the background in favor of a sports competition organized between two high schools. One of them has a formula to increase the strength of his athletes tenfold, the other hires two thugs (already seen in The Computer Madness) to steal the formula.

As is often the case at Disney, we follow a proven recipe. Take Computer Madness, replace the accident with the computer with an accident with a bowl of cereal mixed with a hazardous chemical and you have pretty much the same movie. If your kids enjoyed the first one, they’ll love this one, if they’re young enough.

Because The Strongest Man in the World contains a lot of very childish gags, even more than The Computer Runs Away.

What will please them

Disney

• If they are young enough, the humor of the film, based on gags and very basic situations as well as childish sound effects.

• The sporting competition with the athletes of Medfield who are incapable of lifting the slightest weight, all accompanied by many grimaces and visual tricks.

• Dexter’s powers, which activate in the latter part of the film, and the high-speed driving sequence, which provides the film’s spectacular moment.

What may worry them

Disney

• The relationship between the gangster AJ Arno and his right-hand man, Cookie. The first spends his time reprimanding the second, who never does well enough. This is part of the dynamic of the duo, but the chef’s permanent irritation can weigh on the sensitivity of the youngest.

• Without worrying them, the visit to Ah Fong makes acupuncture a painless way to obtain information. The hero therefore smiles with a needle stuck in his forehead. The children may need to be reassured.
