Zoom Clips, a feature in beta since August and officially launched on November 8, allows Zoom users to record, edit and share short video messages with people inside and outside your organization.

With Zoom Clips, a user can record a video clip using the Zoom web portal, the computer menu or taskbar, or the Zoom application, and edit the name, description, tags, duration and clip thumbnails directly on the same platform. Then users can select viewing permissions and get shareable links that can be distributed to other users, colleagues or partners and customers.

Help teams “communicate asynchronously, reduce the number of meetings and reduce wasted time due to ambiguous communications”

Users will be able to view their video analytics and even receive feedback on clips, to understand the performance and engagement of their videos.

According to Zoom, this new feature is designed to help teams “communicate asynchronously, reduce the number of meetings and reduce wasted time due to ambiguous communications.”

Some use cases where this feature could be useful include giving your team quick updates on the progress or performance of a project or sharing a quick announcement or memo, replacing the need tedious meetings.

2 minute clips

The Zoom Clips feature also removes the hurdle of setting up a meeting with team members who work in different time zones.

Zoom Clips Basic, which allows users to record up to five clips, with each clip no longer than two minutes, will be available to most customers with a Zoom account.

Zoom Clips Plus will remove time and volume restrictions and will be available at no additional cost to paying customers and as an add-on for other users for $6.99 per month starting in December.
