Despite a difficult context, the two-wheeler market recorded more than 2% growth in the first quarter. Discover the Top 10 best-selling motorcycles in France since the beginning of 2022.
Last year, the motorcycle market ended with record sales with nearly 10% increase in new registrations in 2021. After the episodes of confinement, it seems that two-wheel enthusiasts have no never been so in love with freedom. An increase in this practice which contrasts not only with an automobile market which is struggling to recover from the pandemic, but which is also bearing the full brunt of the crisis in semiconductors, that of transport and the Ukrainian conflict.
As the CSIAM (International Chamber of Automobile and Motorcycle Trade Unions) points out, this trend is not really representative of the market, insofar as “the level of registration reflects more an ability to maintain production activity and an operational supply chain as well as possible than a level of demand”.
After a Top 10 of scooter sales which saw their registrations increase by 4.7% in the first quarter of 2022, we now find the Top 10 of the best-selling motorcycles of 125 cm³ and more over the first three months of the year:

The famous Yamaha MT-07 still dominates the rankings but the new Honda NT 1100, soon to be tested by the editorial staff and just marketed, has already risen to second place among the best-selling motorcycles with a sales volume doubled in one month. Trail fashion is still at its height, led by far by the road and “adventure” versions of the BMW GS.
The Honda CB500, “motorcycle school” par excellence, holds on to a fine 5th place, as does the new Honda CB 650 roadster, which enters the Top 10. There is an appetite for large cubes: over this quarter, the 125 are in decline with a decrease of 2.5% (10,627 units all the same) unlike the 750 cm³ and more which recorded an increase of 21.5 points.
