5. Dark Knight
Only long-time Fortnite players own the Dark Knight skin.
The Dark Knight skin was only available to players who completed Fortnite’s first-ever battle pass in Chapter 1 Season 2, meaning players not only had to purchase the battle pass, but also reach the level 70.
This requirement may not be as high as modern battle passes which have 100 levels of cosmetics, but here we are going back to 2017 when the player base was much smaller. Four years have passed since then, so the chances of seeing this skin again in a game are incredibly slim.
4. Special Forces
The Special Forces skin was last seen three years ago.
The Special Forces skin was introduced in the first season of Chapter 1 and could be purchased from the Item Shop for 1,200 V-Bucks. He reappeared once in January 2019, and since then he has simply disappeared.
While this character has made appearances in-game as a quest-giving NPC, the skin has yet to make a return to the Item Shop.
3. Galaxy
Galaxy is an incredibly rare Samsung Galaxy exclusive skin.
When Epic Games launched Fortnite on mobile, players with Samsung Galaxy devices were the first to be invited to test the game on this platform. This partnership continued for quite some time, with quite a few exclusive cosmetics tied to new Samsung products, but none were more in demand than the epic Galaxy skin.
This elusive skin was only available to gamers who purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, but it was later replaced by the Glow skin in 2019 and there’s no way to get it anymore.
2. Renegade Raider
The Renegade Raider skin is a favorite among long-time Fortnite fans.
The design may not be particularly special compared to more modern skins, but Renegade Raider is a popular skin for long-time Fortnite players.
It was only available in the Item Shop in Chapter 1 Season 1, and players had to reach level 20 and spend 1,200 V-Bucks to obtain it.
1. Balloonist
The Fortnite Season 1 Balloonist skin remains the rarest skin you can find.
Much like Renegade Raider, the Balloonist skin predates the introduction of the now-famous Battle Pass and was therefore only available for purchase in the Item Shop for 1,200 V-Bucks after reaching level 15.
While the level required to obtain this skin was not as high as Renegade Raider, most players preferred to purchase the Renegade Raider skin instead, and as a result, Balloonist became rarer.
