Top 5 Netflix: this action and fantasy series is unanimous

Barely put online, “Avatar: The Last Airbender” has taken the top spot on Netflix. Awaited for many years, the series fulfills the hopes of Internet users.

Number 1: Avatar: The Last Airbender

Netflix

The nations of Water, Earth, Fire and Air once lived in harmony and the Avatar, master of the four elements, guaranteed peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and decimated the Air Nomads in a first maneuver to conquer the world.

As the current incarnation of the Avatar is slow to emerge, the world loses hope. However, hope is reborn like a light in the night when Aang, a young Air Nomad — and the last representative of his people — emerges from his slumber to claim his rightful place as the new Avatar.

Accompanied by his new friends Sokka and Katara, a brother and sister who are members of the South Pole Water Tribe, Aang sets out on a quest that combines fantasy and action. He must save the world and repel the terrifying offensive of Fire Lord Ozai, a mission all the more difficult as Crown Prince Zuko is determined to capture him and his friends. But they will be able to count on the help of many allies and colorful characters encountered during their adventures.

Spectator rating: 4.1/5

According to Kromaria (4/5):

“Superb adaptation, very faithful to the anime. The casting is good, the sets are beautiful, the special effects are quite well done. It’s a real pleasure to watch.”

According to Fabien Sorrant (4/5):

“This live action series is really faithful to the animated series that marked my adolescence with good, endearing characters.”

According to Khwartz (5/5)

“Much More Faithful to the Original Series than the film of the same name. Not surprising since it was directed in part by one of the creators of the animated series. In addition, very well played with careful Special Effects which serve the series well 🙂 “

Why does it work?

After a first version considered catastrophic, a second live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender was released. In the form of a Netflix series, this live-action aims to faithfully revisit the three seasons of the cult cartoon.

For this, the series was able to count on a big budget, and it shows on the screen. In addition to its successful special effects, the program also relies on a perfect casting, like that brought together a few months earlier by the live-action One Piece. Entertaining, amusing, and sometimes even moving, Avatar has all the characteristics of a successful series!

Number 2: Interviews

Mediaset

A veteran, annoyed by the drug dealers and troublemakers who have invaded his neighborhood, decides to put his rebellious granddaughter back on the right path.

Spectator rating: 3.5/5

According to J. Martin (5/5)

A very good series, realistic and quite close to the truth. To see without moderation. Be careful though, some somewhat crude scenes

I finished S3 of #Entrevias this weekend and I’m still processing this finale 😭 I need the s4 now.”

Why does it work?

Spanish series are definitely on the rise on Netflix. However, it should be noted that Entrevias is an acquisition, its original channel is Télécinco. The series pleases for its rhythm and its many twists and turns. Furthermore, unlike other more sensationalist Spanish productions like Elite or La Casa de Papel, Entrevias deals with subjects more anchored in everyday life.

Number 3: One day

Netflix

Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew meet on their college graduation day, July 15, 1988. They will grow up, get closer and separate, experience joys and sorrows together.

Based on the novel “One Day” by David Nicholls, published in 2008.

Spectator rating: 4.2/5

According to Angel S (5/5):

“A breathtaking story. Slow start but still catchy. We identify with each character. From episode 7 onwards, all I did was cry without stopping. My heart was broken at every moment. I am proud to announce that I RECOMMEND [cette série]if you like drama and love stories.”

According to Loïc M (5/5):

“A rise in intensity throughout the series. Fabulous production and actors. I have never felt so much acting, and a story that is terribly touching.”

According to Samueljean (4/5):

“A poignant series that realistically captures the ups and downs of human relationships throughout the years. The performances from both actors are captivating, and the moving story leaves a lasting impression on the viewer as it explores the complexities of friendship and long-term love. Ambika is very good in the role, I find her perfect.”

Why does it work?

This is the series that has moved all the romantics and even the most skeptical! Still at the top of the viewing charts after remaining number 1 for a long time, One Day has captured the hearts of Netflix subscribers! Adapted from the famous novel by David Nicholls, the romance between Emma (Ambika Mod) and Dexter (Leo Woodall) told over twenty years and fourteen episodes works wonderfully thanks to its main actors, its brilliant writing and its authentic atmosphere, which make it the one of the gems of the year!

Number 4: Formula 1: drivers of their destiny

Netflix

Drivers, directors or team owners… Whether they are on the circuit or in the paddock, they are ready for anything and experience the Formula 1 season at 300 miles an hour.

Spectator rating: 4.4/5

According to Rorechar (4.5/5):

“A superb series dedicated to the world of F1. We see behind the scenes, the strategies, the team wars. A good, enjoyable time.”

According to Vincetoma (5/5):

“Very good surprise for this series which captivated me from the start, despite my little interest in F1. The different shots and the soundtrack allow total immersion in the races, and the battle of the teams to win is thrilling. Superb!”

According to Thierry D (4.5/5):

“Excellent. I hate Formula 1 by nature, which I have found painful and uninteresting for decades. So it took me a while to get started, and I have no regrets. The series places more emphasis on the technical aspects and politics of F1, behind the scenes, and looks like a good old-fashioned soap opera. There are nice guys, annoying guys, obtuse, open, etc. And we focus on them. Prowess!”

Why does it work?

This is (already) its sixth season, and the success is still there. Among the most popular programs on Netflix, Formula 1: Drivers of Their Destiny is a documentary series going behind the scenes of the F1 world championship.

Evoking the major stages of the Grands Prix of each season, the series also delivers a truer-than-life portrait of the drivers and team bosses. Set up like a soap opera in the ruthless world of car racing, the success of this series shows no sign of stopping!

Number 5: AlRawabi School for Girls

Netflix

At the prestigious AlRawabi girls’ high school, the start of the school year means new classes, new rules… and new queens who make the law.

Spectator rating: 3.5/5

According to Kady Sidibé (5/5):

“I highly recommend this series as a family because it allows you to become aware of the realities of other countries and to perceive other points of view. It may be shocking but these are very present realities that must be discussed as a family, it is a way of opening a field for communication.”

According to Louise Devanne (5/5):

“I’m giving this series a 5 star rating because it is… POWERFUL. There’s no denying it, the storyline is really good quality, I’m particularly targeting the first season which, for me, is a masterpiece – of work. We are affected from the 1st episode, due to its brutal and harsh side.”

According to Filmo-man (5/5):

“Waaaaaw season 2 is incredible, it seems in reality I don’t want to spoil it for you, I just want to say that I liked it because sometimes I feel the same thing…”

Why does it work?

The return of AlRawabi School for Girls on Netflix after three years of absence was acclaimed by fans, even if some were surprised by the direction taken in this second season: new students, new stories, but even high school. Despite this change in storyline, this Jordanian production addresses the same subjects: the place of women in society, the liberation of morals, harassment, youth problems, etc.
