Top Chef 2022: which jurors won a star in the 2022 Michelin Guide?

This Tuesday, March 22, the Michelin Guide unveiled its 2022 awards. Among the new stars awarded, we find jurors from Top Chef.

For a few months, Philippe Etchebest, Hélène Darroze, Paul Pairet and Glenn Viel were forced to move away from their stoves. It was for a good cause, since their mission was to coach young gastronomic talents during the thirteenth season of Top chef, whose sixth episode airs this Wednesday, March 23. Philippe Etchebest and Paul Pairet even faced them during a colorful test. They will therefore not have been away from their respective kitchens for very long. Especially since these last few months have been played out a more select and secret competition : the attribution of stars in the Michelin Guide. The red book delivered its verdict this Tuesday, March 22. And the least we can say is that it’s party time for the jurors of Top chef.

Best worker in France, Philippe Etchebest is awarded a first star for his new establishment : New house. Like Jean Imbert, who was decorated when his address only opened its doors nine weeks earlier, Philippe Etchebest won over Michelin critics in no time, since his second restaurant in Bordeaux was inaugurated in December last only. This isn’t the first time the formidable chef has gotten a macaron. His Fourth Wall has had one since 2018and he owned two when he was the head of the Hostellerie de Plaisance in Saint-Emilion. Hélène Darroze has also been awarded a new star for his Villa La Coste located in the Bouches-du-Rhône. This is his sixth star by counting its various establishments. The only head juror of Top chef has already collected two macaroons for her Parisian address, Marsan, and three others in the United Kingdom with her Hélène Darroze at The Connaught.

Paul Pairet and Glenn Viel already have three stars each

The jurors of Top chef so shine with a thousand lights, since in total, there are no less than fourteen stars. We must indeed add the three displayed by Glenn Viel at L’Oustau de Baumanière as well as those of Paul Pairet in Shanghai (also three). The former candidates of the prestigious M6 competition are not left out either. Many of them have obtained stars after their time on the show. And for this 2022 vintage, they are six to join the lucky ones, like Matthias Marc, semi-finalist from last season.
