"Top Chef": How the show has adapted to the Covid-19: Current Woman The MAG

The twelfth season kicks off Top chef is for February 10, 2021! M6 will broadcast the new episodes of its cooking show. And if for this return the jury, composed of Hélène Darroze, Philippe Etchebest, Michel Sarran and Paul Pairet remains unchanged, many other elements had to be adapted, coronavirus requires. Indeed, the Covid-19, very infectious, gave a hard time to the teams of the show. This is indeed what Philippe Etchebest explained on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the show We're remaking the TV on RTL. The chef delivers the details of all the implementation imagined by the production so that the virus does not jeopardize the filming of these unprecedented episodes.

A brand new set for "Top Chef" and strict sanitary rules

So, one of the first changes of this twelfth season concerns the shooting location. "We left the Pré-Saint-Gervais studio because it is too small", revealed Philippe Etchebest. "The production opted for a much larger studio". And even behind the scenes, everything had been carefully prepared : "We each had our dressing rooms, we were really separated. There were large corridors, we didn't really meet with the staff". A precise organization to avoid as much as possible that cases are listed within the team: "There were people in charge of checking whether we had the masks properly, whether we washed our hands well. We were tested every week, sometimes twice a week." And if this may seem extreme, it has paid off: the Covid-19 was not invited on the set: "In the end it went well because it was very well organized. It was handled in an incredible way ". The members of the jury were not the only ones to have been checked excessively: "So that there is no problem, the candidates were confined in a hotel ten or fifteen days before the start of the shooting. They gave themselves the means to make it go well". A real headache but in the end, everything went well!
