Top Chef: these insults that Agathe Lecaron received when she presented the show

That was over ten years ago… Long before presenting The Kindergarten House, Agathe Lecaron co-hosted the show Top chefon M6, in 2011. Evoking his worst memories in his career, it is in an interview granted to TV Magazine which the host revealed: “In general, though, it’s all entertainment shows at the time when I was not at all in place in my head. That is to say that I thought that I was not good enough to present myself to the world, let’s say and suddenly, we think too much! I was like, ‘Come on, say something smart!’ (…) Obviously, people feel it so it’s dramatic. I was getting screwed on the networks, really, I had stuff…“

Claiming to have received insults when she worked on M6, Agathe Lecaron declared: “Even when I was presenting Top Chef, which I loved so much (…) When you get floods of insults on Twitter, you always have to listen to them because it says something, even if it’s not necessary. It means that we are not in his place or that there is something wrong, or that we are lying. Me the day I took all that away from myself, I said to myself after all, I am who I am. This is the hardest part of this job. It’s age that does that, at some point, you feel better about yourself, you manage to be yourself. But yes, my worst memories are still those insulting things.“Monday November 22, 2021, it was at the microphone of Sud Radio that the pretty blonde had already returned to her experience in Top Chef:”When you go from M6 to public service, you can see that you don’t care about styling, makeup and hairdressing on France Télévisions. Content is more important than anything. I never had any thoughts about how I was dressed. M6 was more on the picture. In Top Chef, at the time, we were more interested in the dress I was wearing than in what I was going to say to the candidates. I was not given the opportunity to show who I was.“

Agathe Lecaron: “I was not really in my place”

In December 2014, it was in an interview given to TV 2 Weeks that the host had revealed that her experience on the set of Top chef didn’t go as well as she’d hoped. “I love Top Chef and I was very happy to do this show. But I was not really in my place. There is no need for a co-host in this program. And me, who likes to laugh and improvise, I was quite frustrated on the shoots. The production asked me to be more serious when I went around the candidates and systematically cut my jokes during editing“, she confided.
