Top Gun 2: When will “Top Gun: Maverick” with Tom Cruise be in the stream?

• “Top Gun: Maverick” has been in German cinemas since May 26, 2022 and is already the most successful film in Tom Cruise’s career.
• So Paramount is proud of the decision to bring Top Gun 2 to theaters and not release it directly to stream.
• Nevertheless, it should soon be possible to stream “Top Gun: Maverick” at home.

Lead actor Tom Cruise has repeatedly emphasized in recent months that “Top Gun: Maverick” was shot specifically for big cinema screens, a release in the stream during the Cororna pandemic was never discussed. The theatrical exclusivity of “Top Gun: Maverick” should pay off, because the “Top Gun” sequel developed into the most successful theatrical release of Cruise’s career.

But the publication in the stream is also expected soon. Paramount now also publishes current cinema releases in streams on Paramount+ 45 days after the cinema release. This could also happen with “Top Gun: Maverick”, which would make the film available to stream as early as July 4, 2022.

The date is of course a happy coincidence for Paramount+, since it is the US Independence Day, a holiday that many action fans would then surely spend in front of the television. However, Paramount Streaming CEO Tom Ryan revealed in an interview with Variety that the start of streaming of “Top Gun: Maverick” is not yet certain, so there may be more time to benefit from theatrical revenues for longer.

Paramount+ has not yet started in Germany, but that will change in December 2022. By then, Top Gun: Maverick will definitely be available to stream.

It is likely that “Top Gun: Maverick” will be available in Germany in July 2022, at least as a digital purchase title. So if you’re not interested in going to the cinema, you don’t have to wait long to experience Tom Cruise’s return as ace pilot Maverick at home.
