Not only Disney is reacting to the coronavirus pandemic again. Paramount has also postponed theatrical releases until 2021.

After Disney, Paramount is also taking further consequences from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The film studio has postponed the release of two of its blockbusters announced for this year until 2021. This is reported by the US media, citing a statement by Chris Aronson and Mark Viane, who are responsible for sales in the USA and internationally at Paramount.

Tom Cruise's second pilot assignment is postponed

The new US theatrical release for "Top Gun: Maverick" with Tom Cruise (58) in the leading role is therefore July 2, 2021. The continuation of the cult film "Top Gun – You fear neither death nor the devil" from 1986 was originally intended start in June 2020 and was last scheduled for December 2020.

Also "A Quiet Place 2", the sequel to the horror film by John Krasinski (40), will not be released as planned in September 2020. The US theatrical release is now April 23, 2021. Actually, the film should have been released in March, but was postponed as one of the first blockbusters because of Corona. New German launch dates are not yet known, but are likely to adapt to the US release as before.
