Tom Cruise fans need to be patient. The launch dates of “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Mission: Impossible 7” have been postponed.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise (58) has a lot of iron in the fire. The problem: Despite his hard work, the postponement of some film projects apparently cannot be stopped. How several US industry sites report unanimously, the film production company Paramount Pictures is said to have been busy shaking the premiere calendar for the coming years. “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Mission: Impossible 7” are also affected.

The action adventure “Top Gun: Maverick”, in which Cruise becomes Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell once more, takes four months longer to come. Instead of appearing in theaters on July 2, 2021 as planned, the premiere date has been postponed to November 19. Meanwhile, “Mission: Impossible 7” flies completely out of the 2021 cinema year. Instead of November 19, the action film will now be released on May 27, 2022. The sequel, “Mission: Impossible 8”, was moved from November 4, 2022 to July 7, 2023.

“GI Joe” spin-off appears earlier

But there is also good news to report from Paramount Pictures. While Tom Cruise fans have to be patient, the wait for the “GI Joe” spin-off “Snake Eyes” is shortened. This will not appear in October, as previously assumed, but on July 23, 2021.
