Top marks from Stiftung Warentest: no one can avoid this smartphone


Which smartphone is number 1? This is what Stiftung Warentest wanted to know and looked at a total of 40 current models ranging in price from around 150 euros to 1,250 euros. In some disciplines, the product testers encountered real surprises. The top dogs Samsung and Apple are not always at the top.

Anyone looking for a new smartphone is spoiled for choice. Countless manufacturers and models vie for the attention and money of buyers. The Stiftung Warentest, which clears the smartphone jungle at regular intervals and offers some orientation with its tests, also knows this. In the latest August issue, the product testers put 40 current smartphones through their paces.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the best smartphone according to Stiftung Warentest

Overall winner of the test was the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which was able to take the lead with the grade “Good (1.7)” (source: Stiftung Warentest). The Stiftung Warentest could not find any real defects in the current flagship smartphone of the South Koreans. Even more: The camera was particularly convincing. “Even zoomed ten times, image details can still be seen excellently,” the experts praised.

According to the product testers, the price tip is the Honor 50 for only 350 euros, which shines above all with its battery. The bottom line is that the Honor gets the grade “Good (2.0)”.
