(CercleFinance.com) – Faced with the assertions of the article published by the newspaper Le Monde dated August 25, 2022 and entitled ‘TotalEnergies gas serves the Russian war’, the newspaper Le Monde had to publish the following elements within the framework a right of reply:
‘ No, TotalEnergies does not operate or co-operate the Termokarstovoye deposit. TotalEnergies is a minority shareholder (49%) of Terneftegaz alongside Novatek, which is the majority shareholder (51%). Terneftegaz is operated by Novatek personnel and TotalEnergies has no operational role there. ‘
‘No, ‘TotalEnergies gas’ does not power Russian bombers. From a contractual point of view, TotalEnergies has no involvement in the operational activities of Novatek (…)’ and the kerosene subsequently produced ‘is exclusively exported outside of Russia’, assures Total.
‘ No, TotalEnergies did not achieve its results for the first half of 2022 thanks to its activities in connection with Russia. First of all, TotalEnergies recorded significant losses related to Russia amounting to 7.6 billion dollars (…)
In addition, TotalEnergies has published the results of its activities in Russia: they amount, excluding the exceptional provisions mentioned above, to 1.7 billion dollars for the first half, or only 9% of the Company’s results.
