TotalEnergies: agreement with the United Arab Emirates


(CercleFinance.com) – Following the 2nd plenary meeting of the high-level Franco-Emirati Business Council in Paris, TotalEnergies announces the signing of a memorandum of understanding establishing the Franco-Emirati Bilateral Investment Platform for the climate.

‘This pragmatic framework should allow investors from both countries to accelerate the deployment of joint projects and investments of common interest in the field of clean energies, with particular emphasis on the decarbonization of so-called difficult sectors’, underlines TotalEnergies.

Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, who attended the meeting alongside MM. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies and Chairman and CEO of ADNOC, and Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, added that ‘the common ambition is to develop very concrete joint projects in order to contribute to the strategic objectives of our two countries in terms of innovation, industrial development and ecological transition.

The companies TotalEnergies and Masdar (a renewable energy company owned by the Emirati state) have also signed a memorandum of understanding to partner in wind and solar projects in emerging markets.
