PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The energy producer TotalEnergies announced on Wednesday that its final withdrawal from Burma was effective today.
TotalEnergies announced at the beginning of the year its decision to withdraw from the Yadana field and from the gas transmission company MGTC in the country.
“In a context of the continuing deterioration of the human rights situation in Myanmar, this decision resulted from the observation that TotalEnergies was no longer in a position to make a sufficient positive contribution in this country”, recalled the group in a press release. .
