(Boursier.com) — TotalEnergies and its partners have signed an exploration and production sharing agreement (EPSA) with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals of the Sultanate of Oman for Block 11, located onshore. As part of the first phase of this contract, a seismic acquisition campaign will take place at the end of 2022, followed by the drilling of a first exploration well planned for 2023, indicates the group. TotalEnergies will hold a 22.5% stake in this block, alongside OQ (10%) and Shell (67.5%, operator). Block 11 combines undeveloped discoveries and exploration potential.

In 2021, TotalEnergies production in Oman was 39,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. The group produces oil on Block 6 (4%), as well as LNG through its stake in the Oman LNG (5.54%) / Qalhat LNG (2.04% via Oman LNG) liquefaction complex, with an overall capacity of 10.5 million tons per year. Last year, TotalEnergies signed a concession agreement for the development of onshore Block 10 natural gas resources (26.55%), with production scheduled for 2023.
