(CercleFinance.com) – TotalEnergies announces a discovery of hydrocarbons on the Ntokon well on the OML 102 permit, offshore Nigeria.
Located 20 kilometers from the Ofon field facilities on OML 102, Ntokon is expected to be developed by connecting to these existing facilities.
“The Ntokon discovery opens up promising prospects for further development by connection”, declared Nicolas Terraz, General Manager Exploration-Production of TotalEnergies.
‘Following the start of production at Ikike on OML 99 in 2022, this new discovery confirms the ability of near-field exploration to generate value, in line with our low-cost, low-emissions strategy’, adds he.
OML 102 is operated by TotalEnergies EP Nigeria, which holds a 40% stake alongside its partner NNPC Ltd (60%).
