(CercleFinance.com) – TotalEnergies announces the acquisition of Polska Grupa Biogazowa (PGB) – the main Polish producer of biogas – and a portfolio of solar projects under development, with a capacity of 200 megawatts (MW).
PGB is a company employing 130 people in nine regions of Poland whose main area of activity is the production of renewable electricity and heat from biogas from organic waste.
It owns and operates 17 units in production and one under construction, for a total capacity of 166 GWh per year of electricity production. PGB’s portfolio also includes 23 projects in development.
The acquisition of PGB increases TotalEnergies’ biogas production capacity to 1.1 TWh.
‘These agreements illustrate TotalEnergies’ desire to develop its renewable activities in Poland and more broadly in Europe, to support the Green Deal,’ said Stéphane Michel, Managing Director Gas, Renewables & Power of TotalEnergies.
