(Boursier.com) — TotalEnergies signed a new 15-year renewable electricity sales contract with Saint-Gobain. This is the second long-term solar electricity supply contract aimed at contributing to the decarbonization of electricity consumption at the building materials company’s 125 industrial sites in North America.
The signing by TotalEnergies of this electricity sales contract with Saint-Gobain once again demonstrates its commitment to offering tailor-made renewable energy solutions to companies around the world, as it did with Air Liquide, Amazon, Merck, Microsoft, Orange, or even Sasol.
As part of this 100 MW electricity sales contract, TotalEnergies will provide clean energy from its Danish Fields (Texas) solar park, thus helping to reduce CO2 emissions by 90,000 tonnes per year (Scope 2). from electricity produced by Saint-Gobain in North America. With a capacity of 720 MW, the TotalEnergies solar park is expected to come into service in 2024 and will be the largest solar park operated on a large scale by the Company in the United States. This contract includes an “upside sharing” mechanism, under which companies will share any potential increases resulting from increases in market prices during the term of the contract.
