(CercleFinance.com) – TotalEnergies announces the signing of a series of agreements with Sonatrach to strengthen their cooperation in the production of natural gas, the delivery of LNG to Europe, and the development of renewable energies in Algeria.
Through a first agreement, they have decided to convert the production contracts for the TFTII and TFT south gas fields, in southern Algeria, to bring their combined production to more than 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2026, compared to approximately 60,000 in 2022.
Through a second agreement, the two groups have extended for the year 2024 the deliveries of two million tonnes per year of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to TotalEnergies at the port of Fos-Cavaou, in the Marseille region, in France.
Finally, TotalEnergies and Sonatrach will study the development of renewable energy production projects in Algeria, in particular to solarize hydrocarbon sites, as well as to supply seawater desalination stations.
