TotalEnergies: sharp rise in the refining margin

(CercleFinance.com) – TotalEnergies reports that its variable cost margin, refining Europe (refining margin), climbed to $46.3 per ton in the first quarter of 2022, compared to $16.7 in the previous quarter and $5.3 a year ago.

As a reminder, this margin is equal to the difference between the sales of refined products made by the European refinery of TotalEnergies and the purchases of crude oil with the associated variable costs, divided by the quantities refined in tonnes.

In addition, the energy group specifies that over the past quarter, the average price of a barrel of Brent stood at 102.2 dollars per barrel ($/b), the average price of sales of liquids at 90.1 $/b, that of gas at $12.27/Mbtu and that of LNG at $13.60/Mbtu.
