TotalEnergies: signature of an agreement with Oman LNG

(CercleFinance.com) – TotalEnergies announces the start of gas production on Block 10 onshore in Oman, as well as the signing of an agreement with Oman LNG for a long-term LNG purchase contract.

TotalEnergies holds a 26.55% stake in this Block, alongside OQ (20%) and Shell (53.45%, operator).

Gas production is expected to reach 500 million cubic feet per day by mid-2024. This gas will be injected into the Omani network, supplying both local industry and LNG export terminals.

This LNG will contribute to the reduction of emissions into the atmosphere since it will allow electricians who purchase this gas to substitute it for coal and therefore avoid CO2 emissions.

TotalEnergies has also signed an agreement with Oman LNG for the purchase of 0.8 million tons of LNG per year for a period of ten years from 2025.
