TotalEnergies signs memorandums of understanding with the United Arab Emirates

(AOF) – During a meeting in Paris, TotalEnergies and the United Arab Emirates signed a memorandum of understanding establishing the Franco-UAE bilateral climate investment platform. This pragmatic framework should allow investors from both countries to accelerate the deployment of joint projects and investments of common interest in the field of clean energies, with particular emphasis on the decarbonization of so-called difficult sectors.

Launched by several founding partners, ADNOC and Masdar for the UAE and TotalEnergies, Bpifrance and CMA CGM for France, the platform aims to attract other partner investors over time.

The companies TotalEnergies and Masdar (a renewable energy company owned by the Emirati state) have also signed a memorandum of understanding to partner in wind and solar projects in emerging markets.

The objective is to study potential cooperation and develop joint projects in the field of renewable energies in Central Asia and Africa.
