(CercleFinance.com) – TotalEnergies and its Azerbaijani partner SOCAR announce the start of production of the first development phase of the Absheron gas and condensate field, located in the Caspian Sea, around 100 km southeast of Baku.
This first phase connects a subsea producing well to a new gas processing platform. The production capacity is four million m3 per day of gas and 12,000 barrels per day of condensate.
The development of the Absheron field brings additional gas supply to meet the growing demand of the domestic Azerbaijani market, at a competitive technical cost and with low greenhouse gas emissions intensity.
