(CercleFinance.com) – As the Le Bourget air show opens, TotalEnergies says it will be able to produce half a million tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) by 2028, in response to the gradual increase in European mandates for the aviation sector.
To do this, the energy group is investing massively and multiplying SAF’s production projects, with for example the transformation of the Grandpuits site into a zero-oil platform with an investment of 400 million euros.
Beyond France, TotalEnergies aims to produce 1.5 million tonnes with SAF production units in Europe, the United States, Japan and South Korea by 2030, i.e. 10% of the world market by this time.
