(CercleFinance.com) – The European Commission has approved the acquisition of Clearway Energy Group and SunPower Group, both based in the United States, by the French TotalEnergies and the American Global Infrastructure Management.
Clearway Energy Group is an energy infrastructure investor focusing on investments in the United States.
SunPower Group is a provider of solar technologies and energy services in the United States and Canada.
TotalEnergies is a publicly traded energy company active globally in the oil and gas industry.
GIP is an independent global infrastructure fund manager primarily focused on investing in the transportation, energy, digital infrastructure, and waste and water sectors.
The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not raise competition concerns, given its very limited impact on the structure of the relevant market.
