(CercleFinance.com) – TotalEnergies announces that it has signed an agreement with the American company TexGen with a view to acquiring, for an amount of $635 million, three gas power plants representing 1.5 GW of electricity generation capacity in Texas .
These Wolf Hollow I, Colorado Bend I and La Porte power plants, located near Dallas and Houston, will meet the growing energy demand of these cities and help offset the intermittency of renewable energy production.
These gas plants will therefore complement the group’s renewable production capacities in Texas and strengthen its trading capabilities on the electricity and gas markets. The transaction remains subject to authorization from the competent authorities.
