TotalEnergies: towards the transport of liquefied hydrogen – 01/31/2024 at 6:08 p.m.


(CercleFinance.com) – GTT, TotalEnergies, LMG Marin and Bureau Veritas announced the success of their joint project aimed at developing the maritime transport of hydrogen by obtaining two approvals in principle (AIP1) from Bureau Veritas.

The first approval is for the design of a cryogenic membrane containment system for liquefied hydrogen developed by GTT.

The second concerns the preliminary design of a hydrogen tanker with a capacity of 150,000 m3 and equipped with the GTT membrane confinement system.

According to the partners’ press release, this collaboration demonstrates ‘exceptional synergy’ aimed at meeting the challenges of hydrogen maritime transport on a global scale.
