TotalEnergies: will return land for EDF’s EPR2 – 2023-06-02 at 12:00

(CercleFinance.com) – The company TotalEnergies announces that it will return the land it occupies in Gravelines (Nord) to allow the future installation of EDF’s EPR2 reactors.

As a reminder, the French Government announced in February 2022 its desire to relaunch a nuclear development program in France as part of the energy transition, which notably provides for the construction of new EPR 2 type reactors.

The land in question, adjoining the EDF site in Gravelines, is currently used to store 600,000 m3 of strategic stocks of diesel.

In order to adapt to the drop in activity linked to this restitution, TotalEnergies will launch a local consultation with the staff representative bodies in order to draw the consequences for the activities of the TotalEnergies platform in Dunkirk and to support, on the voluntary basis, transfers to EDF.
