PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The energy group TotalEnergies announced on Tuesday that it had decided “unilaterally” to no longer enter into or renew contracts for the purchase of Russian oil and oil products, in order to stop all purchases of oil or products Russian oil companies, “as soon as possible and at the latest by the end of 2022”.
This decision was taken to take account of “the worsening of the situation in Ukraine and the existence of alternative sources to supply Europe”, indicated the group in a press release.
On February 25, TotalEnergies announced that it had abandoned all trading operations on the spot markets relating to Russian oil or oil products.
