TotalEnergies wins a tender for an offshore wind farm in the USA

PARIS, Feb 28 (Reuters) – TotalEnergies announced on Monday that it has won the tender for the development of an offshore wind farm off New York and New Jersey on the East Coast of the United States, its most major renewable energy project.

The oil group indicates that the concession, which should make it possible to develop a production capacity of at least 3 gigawatts, was obtained for an amount of 795 million dollars (711.24 million euros) jointly by TotalEnergies and the German EnBW.

Commissioning is scheduled for 2028.

“This front door entry into offshore wind power in the United States is one more step towards our goal of reaching 100 gigawatts of renewable energy production capacity worldwide by 2030,” said Patrick Pouyanné, the CEO of TotalEnergies, quoted in a press release.
