TOTW 16 FIFA 23 Team of the Week Predictions

New week and new predictions for the FIFA 23 TOTW 16 Team of the Week. As usual, EA will offer new IF cards following the results of the best professional players of the past week. For the moment, the TOTW (IF) card system seems to be the same as last year with a Featured card (highlighted) as well as fairly standard boosts depending on the level of the card. We therefore present to you our predictions for the new cards which will be available in the packs from Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Prediction : Score over the past week, 5/9.

Leaks : You can check our Team of the Week leaks to find out in advance which players will be selected by EA.

Guardians Team of the Week 16

Juan Musso, Atalanta, Serie A

While we would like to highlight a higher card for the first goalkeeper, the week was quite difficult at the goalkeeper level. Thus, our first choice is Juan Musso, the doorman of Atalanta. The Argentinian was decisive in the draw against Lazio, which should make for an interesting link card.

Filip Kurto, Macarthur FC, Australia

Hard to do better than Filip Kurto this week since the Polish goalkeeper managed to get two penalties in the same match. Although a basic silver card, EA should reward it somehow.

Defender Predictions

Jeremie Frimpong, Leverkusen, Bundesliga

While it seems to select him once a month, EA seems not to want to give a second TOTW to the young Dutch player. It must be said that Frimpong is having a great season and his two assists last weekend are proof of that. A new special version could be a good option within the Bundesliga.

Luke Shaw, Man United, Premier League

In ambush behind Arsenal and Man City for the title in the English championship, Man United continues to chain good performances. The club was once again able to count on Luke Shaw, author of a very fine assist and a great game, to win the three points against Leeds.

Midfielders

Canales, Real Betis, La Liga

While he got a special card linked to his performances in the last four editions of FIFA, Canales still hasn’t received anything on FIFA 23. That should change following his goal and assist against Almeria.

Adrien Rabiot, Juventus, Serie A

A difficult choice since his teammate Vlahovic could also be selected for the first match of the week. But overall we prefer Rabiot. The French international scored the winning goal in the duel against Fiorentina, putting Juventus on a good dynamic in this very important duel for the Italian formation given the current situation of the club.

Which Attackers in TOTW 16?

Wissam Ben Yedder, AS Monaco, Ligue 1

While EA has snubbed Ben Yedder several times this season, the French player has clearly done enough to be selected this time around. The Monegasque crushed PSG with all his skill, scoring two goals plus an assist for an important 3-1 win over the defending champions. This second IF should be absolutely playable, like its Centurions card.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr, MBS

Ronaldo fans must be happy to see the Portuguese’s smile and form. The former multiple Ballon d’Or achieved a very nice quadruple with his new club, proof that he still has this goalscoring instinct. This TOTW map could be interesting even if outdated at this stage of the game.

FIFA 23 Featured Map of the Week

Harvey Barnes, Leicester, Premier League

One of last year’s new features, the Team of the Week Featured card is back in FIFA 23. For TOTW 16, our pick is Harvey Barnes. It seems obvious to us that EA is putting forward a Leicester player following the club’s 4-1 card against Tottenham. If Maddison is an option here too, the latter has already earned two IF cards this year.

Cards that could appear in TOTW 16

We list here players who have a chance of appearing there but who, for various reasons should miss the selection of EA. The interest of listing these cards is to protect you from an investment point of view (see below) and thus potentially take some risks on less expected players.

  • Rodri, Manchester City
  • Vlahovic, Juventus
  • Di Lorenzo, Napoli
  • Grifo, Freiburg
  • Simons, PSV
  • Guerreiro, Borussia
  • Toney, Brentford
  • Theo Hernandez, AC Milan

How to get TOTW cards in FIFA 23?

TOTW cards are often interesting at high level but also for DCEs as well as to achieve specific objectives in friendly match mode. Therefore, even on players whose overall rating would be quite low, it is necessary to know how to get these TOTW cards on FIFA 23.

The first source is obviously the transfer market, where you can find a player’s TOTW cards in special versions of their cards. Be careful, however, because the IF cards sell for much more than the basic version. This is explained in particular by their rarity but also by the fact that the base price (in discard) is already quite high.

A second source remains gold packs of the game, which have these special cards for one week (from Wednesday to the following Wednesday at 7 p.m.). So be careful because once this week is over, it will be impossible to drop them in packs.

Additionally, Team of the Week cards are obtainable as a reward for FUTChampion (WL) depending on your ranking. If this year, the rewards could change, EA should not remove the presence of the TOTW cards. Similarly, the weekly ranking in Rivals allows to obtain TOTW cards although again, in FUT Champion mode (red).

Finally, specific TOTW Packs will be present during the season in ECDalthough the latter are often unprofitable because they are totally random.

Investments linked to TOTW predictions on FIFA 23

If the cards of the players selected in the Team of the week are often good sources of investment, it is also possible to earn credits via the TOTW. Indeed, there are several methods to speculate on the market.

Thus, the simplest and most regular is to bet on current TOTW players’ normal Gold cards. These are not present in the packs during the week, limiting the quantity of cards. If a player is looking to use these cards for DCEs or for their team, the prices can spike a lot. So buy the cards in anticipation of this rise, speculating on TOTW’s predictions. This technique is called OOP (Out of Packs, understand outside of packs) and also works for special cards in events. The more specific the card (big league, nation and rare position), the greater its potential. For example, a player like Jonathan Claus is very interesting because he is French, from Ligue 1 and on a relatively rare DD position in the Gold card. Therefore, his price in the Gold version could easily triple in OOP.

In addition, another method is to analyze future good TOTW cards and thus speculate on the cards related to them. For example, if Haaland receives a Team of the Week card, it’s likely players will be looking to incorporate him into their FUT roster. Thus, they will also seek to link this new card with other Premier League players, Man City players or even Norwegian players in order to create the best possible links. It is therefore possible to invest in cards allowing perfect links, just before the release of the new Team of the week. This technique will be useful with the release of special maps until around mid-December, before which time Team of the Week starts to look less interesting on FIFA 23.

Note that these two strategies require good anticipation of the market, but also finding the right timing. Often the cards to buy go up quickly, so you need to plan ahead who to buy. Also, this bull run won’t last long, so it’s necessary to play for a few days and quickly sell your cards.

So much for our predictions of the players of the new FIFA 23 TOTW 16 team of the week. If as often EA will seek to muddy the waters by selecting profiles a little more obscure, we are confident that the majority of the players listed above will be available as a special card on FIFA 23. As a reminder, the TOTW 16 will be officially unveiled Wednesday at 7 p.m..
