New week and new predictions for the FIFA 23 TOTW 17 Team of the Week. As usual, EA will offer new IF cards based on the results of the best professional players from the past week. For the moment, the TOTW (IF) card system seems to be the same as last year with a Featured card (highlighted) as well as fairly standard boosts depending on the level of the card. We therefore present to you our predictions for the new cards which will be available in the packs from Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Guardians Team of the Week 17
Bernd Leno, Fulham, Premier League
After a week without a Premier League goalkeeper, we consider it time for EA to re-select an English Premier League goalkeeper. Our choice is Bernd Leno, author of a great match against Brighton, allowing Fulham to record three precious points.
Finn Dahmen, Mainz, Bundesliga
A silver card is always difficult to place in a Team of the Week, but EA regularly selects them for the goalkeeper position. Thus, our choice here is Finn Dahmen, who despite two goals conceded in the first half, was excellent during the second part of the match. This notably stopped a penalty, allowing Mainz to win the match.
Defender Predictions
James Tavernier, Rangers, SFPL
A regular at special cards, James Tavernier seems a bit forgotten by EA this year. Therefore, we really hope that the studio will not miss the great performance of the English player. The full-back scored twice in Rangers’ 3-0 win. A Featured version might even be an option.
Emerson, Tottenham, Premier League
Threatened in his right-back position, Emerson responded with a memorable performance. The Brazilian stood out throughout the match, even opening the scoring with a goal in a more than offensive position. In the end, Emerson allowed Spurs to win a very important game in the race for the Top 4 and should get a TOTW card there which could even be interesting in the event of a double boost.
Midfielders
Bruno Fernandes, Man United, Premier League
What a post-World Cup recovery for Manchester United, which is a real challenger for the title in England. Proof of this is the excellent performance of the club against Leicester, the Red Devils having rolled out a wide success 3 to 0. Among the main drivers of the group, we find Bruno Fernandes author of two assists.
Kevin de Bruyne, Manchester City, Premier League
Great players need to shine in big games and that’s exactly what Kevin de Bruyne did. The Belgian player was decisive against Arsenal, scoring the first goal by taking full advantage of an error by Tomiyasu. Besides, the excellent midfielder added an assist to his tally to help City win against leaders Arsenal. A new TOTW would be fully playable, albeit inferior to its WW.
Which Attackers in TOTW 17?
Kylian Mbappé, PSG, Ligue 1
We know EA and its habits of snubbing the best players if they don’t score at least one hat-trick. However, we take the risk of listing Kylian Mbappé here. The French genius carried PSG again, with two goals against Lille, including a marvel at the start of the match. With a TOTY already and many special versions, Mbappé would simply get an alternative to his Road to the World Cup card.
Ciro Immobile, Lazio, Serie A
Few players have had as many TOTW cards as Ciro Immobile in FUT history. The Italian striker struck again with two goals in Lazio’s 2-0 win. However, this second IF will not really be playable at this stage of the game, with a lack of agility and shooting power.
FIFA 23 Featured Map of the Week
Junior Messias, AC Milan, Serie A
One of last year’s new features, the Team of the Week Featured card is back in FIFA 23. For TOTW 17, our pick is Junior Messias. The Brazilian midfielder scored the only goal in AC Milan’s victory over Monza, allowing the defending champions to hold on to a place in the top four of Serie A.
Cards that could appear in TOTW 17
We list here players who have a chance of appearing there but who, for various reasons should miss the selection of EA. The interest of listing these cards is to protect you from an investment point of view (see below) and thus potentially take some risks on less expected players.

How to get TOTW cards in FIFA 23?
TOTW cards are often interesting at high level but also for DCEs as well as to achieve specific objectives in friendly match mode. Therefore, even on players whose overall rating would be quite low, it is necessary to know how to get these TOTW cards on FIFA 23.
The first source is obviously the transfer market, where you can find a player’s TOTW cards in special versions of their cards. Be careful, however, because the IF cards sell for much more than the basic version. This is explained in particular by their rarity but also by the fact that the base price (in discard) is already quite high.
A second source remains gold packs of the game, which have these special cards for one week (from Wednesday to the following Wednesday at 7 p.m.). So be careful because once this week is over, it will be impossible to drop them in packs.
Additionally, Team of the Week cards are obtainable as a reward for FUTChampion (WL) depending on your ranking. If this year, the rewards could change, EA should not remove the presence of the TOTW cards. Similarly, the weekly ranking in Rivals allows to obtain TOTW cards although again, in FUT Champion mode (red).
Finally, specific TOTW Packs will be present during the season in ECDalthough the latter are often unprofitable because they are totally random.
Investments linked to TOTW predictions on FIFA 23
If the cards of the players selected in the Team of the week are often good sources of investment, it is also possible to earn credits via the TOTW. Indeed, there are several methods to speculate on the market.
Thus, the simplest and most regular is to bet on current TOTW players’ normal Gold cards. These are not present in the packs during the week, limiting the quantity of cards. If a player is looking to use these cards for DCEs or for their team, the prices can spike a lot. So buy the cards in anticipation of this rise, speculating on TOTW’s predictions. This technique is called OOP (Out of Packs, understand outside of packs) and also works for special cards in events. The more specific the card (big league, nation and rare position), the greater its potential. For example, a player like Jonathan Claus is very interesting because he is French, from Ligue 1 and on a relatively rare DD position in the Gold card. Therefore, his price in the Gold version could easily triple in OOP.
In addition, another method is to analyze future good TOTW cards and thus speculate on the cards related to them. For example, if Haaland receives a Team of the Week card, it’s likely players will be looking to incorporate him into their FUT roster. Thus, they will also seek to link this new card with other Premier League players, Man City players or even Norwegian players in order to create the best possible links. It is therefore possible to invest in cards allowing perfect links, just before the release of the new Team of the week. This technique will be useful with the release of special maps until around mid-December, before which time Team of the Week starts to look less interesting on FIFA 23.
Note that these two strategies require good anticipation of the market, but also finding the right timing. Often the cards to buy go up quickly, so you need to plan ahead who to buy. Also, this bull run won’t last long, so it’s necessary to play for a few days and quickly sell your cards.
