TOTW 21 FIFA 23 Team of the Week Predictions

New week and new predictions for the FIFA 23 TOTW 21 Team of the Week. As usual, EA will offer new IF cards following the results of the best professional players of the past week. For the moment, the TOTW (IF) card system seems to be the same as last year with a Featured card (highlighted) as well as fairly standard boosts depending on the level of the card. We therefore present to you our predictions for the new cards which will be available in the packs from Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Prediction : Score over the past week, 7/9.

Leaks : You can check our Team of the Week leaks to find out in advance which players will be selected by EA.

Our Team of the Week 21 predictions.

Guardians Team of the Week 21

Steve Mandanda, Rennes, Ligue 1

Far from OM but still performing well, Steve Mandanda produced a very good performance in the victory over PSG. The former French international pulled off a few classy saves allowing Rennes to win a clear victory against the leaders of the French championship. Although we already have quite a few French goalkeeper cards this year, Mandanda will be one more option for a Ligue 1 team.

Daniel Bachmann, Watford, EFL

For our second goalkeeper, our choice is a minor league with the EFL Championship. The English second division is sometimes highlighted by EA and that is why we have opted for Daniel Bachmann. The Austrian goalkeeper had a very good week with a win and a draw, allowing Watford to move up to the first part of the table.

Defender Predictions

James Tavernier, Ranges, SPFL

A player that we particularly like on FIFA but that EA seems to enjoy snubbing, James Tavernier could get his second IF card of the season here. The England defender scored again, as well as providing an assist in Rangers’ 4-2 win. This TOTW has the potential to challenge its Centurion version, a very solid card in DD.

Alexsandro Ribeiro, LOSC, Ligue 1

We hesitated for a long time here for the position of second defender since few players really stood out in this position last week. In the end, our choice is Ribeiro, the Brazilian defender of LOSC. The latter scored the first goal in the rather difficult 2-0 victory for Lille against Toulouse (two goals in the last minutes of the match).

Midfielders

Frank Kessie, FC Barcelona, La Liga

Kessié scored a particularly important goal in the title race for FC Barcelona. After being down 1-0 early in the game by Real Madrid, the Spanish league leaders regained the lead in the dying minutes with a strike from their midfield. This victory in the Classico now gives FC Barcelona 12 points ahead of its rival. The former AC Milan player could get a second boost for his OTW there, which should take the opportunity to find some playing time in a lot of teams.

Bukayo Saka, Arsenal, Premier League

Only a few days after the elimination of the Gunners in the Europa League, the leaders of the English championship reassured themselves by beating Crystal Palace 4 to 1. Among the scorers, we find once again Saka, author of two goals and an assist decisive for Martinelli. Note that this TOTW will not be good enough to compete with its TOTY MH version.

Which Attackers in TOTW 21?

Victor Osimhen, Napoli, Serie A

The top scorer in Serie A has struck again! We no longer stop Victor Osimhen who once again recorded a double for Naples. The Italian club is now heading for the title in the championship while the Champions League could still be a goal for Napoli. If this TOTW should be equivalent to its POTM, it could bring it a little closer to a second POTM but also to a TOTS which now seems acquired.

Jose Morales, Villarreal, La Liga

A regular on the Team of the Week after 5 cards on the two previous editions of FIFA, Morales makes his appearance for the first time this season. Author of a double in a 3-0 victory over Villarreal, the Spanish striker continues his very good year with now 14 achievements in all competitions, a great performance at 35!

FIFA 23 Featured Map of the Week

Exequiel Palacios, Leverkusen, Bundesliga

One of the new features from last year, the Featured Team of the Week card is back in FIFA 23. For TOTW 21, our pick is Leverkusen player Exequiel Palacios. The German club managed one of the surprises of the past week by beating Bayern Munich, allowing Leverkusen to move closer to a European place. Palacios scored both goals (from penalties) for the German club, which should give them a decent but unplayable TOTW card.

Cards that could appear in TOTW 21

We list here players who have a chance of appearing there but who, for various reasons should miss the selection of EA. The interest of listing these cards is to protect you from an investment point of view (see below) and thus potentially take some risks on less expected players.

  • Kostic, Juventus
  • Douglas Luis, Aston Villa
  • Mings, Aston Villa
  • Carrasco, Atletico Madrid
  • Sanchez, OM
  • Paul Lopez, OM
  • David Silva, Real Sociedad
  • Haller, Borussia
  • Malen, Borussia

How to get TOTW cards in FIFA 23?

TOTW cards are often interesting at high level but also for DCEs as well as to achieve specific objectives in friendly match mode. Therefore, even on players whose overall rating would be quite low, it is necessary to know how to get these TOTW cards on FIFA 23.

The first source is obviously the transfer market, where you can find a player’s TOTW cards in special versions of their cards. Be careful, however, because the IF cards sell for much more than the basic version. This is explained in particular by their rarity but also by the fact that the base price (in discard) is already quite high.

A second source remains gold packs of the game, which have these special cards for one week (from Wednesday to the following Wednesday at 7 p.m.). So be careful because once this week is over, it will be impossible to drop them in packs.

Additionally, Team of the Week cards are obtainable as a reward for FUTChampion (WL) depending on your ranking. If this year, the rewards could change, EA should not remove the presence of the TOTW cards. Similarly, the weekly ranking in Rivals allows to obtain TOTW cards although again, in FUT Champion mode (red).

Finally, specific TOTW Packs will be present during the season in ECDalthough the latter are often unprofitable because they are totally random.

Investments linked to TOTW predictions on FIFA 23

If the cards of the players selected in the Team of the week are often good sources of investment, it is also possible to earn credits via the TOTW. Indeed, there are several methods to speculate on the market.

Thus, the simplest and most regular is to bet on current TOTW players’ normal Gold cards. These are not present in the packs during the week, limiting the quantity of cards. If a player is looking to use these cards for DCEs or for their team, the prices can spike a lot. So buy the cards in anticipation of this rise, speculating on TOTW’s predictions. This technique is called OOP (Out of Packs, understand outside of packs) and also works for special cards in events. The more specific the card (big league, nation and rare position), the greater its potential. For example, a player like Jonathan Claus is very interesting because he is French, from Ligue 1 and on a relatively rare DD position in the Gold card. Therefore, his price in the Gold version could easily triple in OOP.

In addition, another method is to analyze future good TOTW cards and thus speculate on the cards related to them. For example, if Haaland receives a Team of the Week card, it’s likely players will be looking to incorporate him into their FUT roster. Thus, they will also seek to link this new card with other Premier League players, Man City players or even Norwegian players in order to create the best possible links. It is therefore possible to invest in cards allowing perfect links, just before the release of the new Team of the week. This technique will be useful with the release of special maps until around mid-December, before which time Team of the Week starts to look less interesting on FIFA 23.

Note that these two strategies require good anticipation of the market, but also finding the right timing. Often the cards to buy go up quickly, so you need to plan ahead who to buy. Also, this bull run won’t last long, so it’s necessary to play for a few days and quickly sell your cards.

So much for our predictions of the players of the new FIFA 23 TOTW 21 team of the week. If as often EA will seek to muddy the waters by selecting profiles a little more obscure, we are confident that the majority of the players listed above will be available as a special card on FIFA 23. As a reminder, the TOTW 21 will be officially unveiled Wednesday at 7 p.m..
