London reports Russian advances in eastern Ukraine

Since Russia concentrated its troops in eastern Ukraine, fighting there has increased. The British secret service reports that Moscow is trying to surround several cities – but Ukraine is resisting. According to information from Kyiv, Russia also wants to conquer all of Luhansk.
British intelligence estimates that Russia has made some local advances in its offensive in eastern Ukraine. Moscow has significantly increased the intensity of its activities in the Donbass and is trying to encircle several cities there, one said updates of the British Ministry of Defence.
However, this is only part of Russia’s mission to bring the entire Donbass region under its control, it said. The Ukrainian resistance is strong.
If the front line in the Donbass shifts further west, it is likely to pose further logistical difficulties for the Russians, according to British intelligence. For months now, the British government has been releasing intelligence information on the course of the war of aggression in an unusually open manner. Moscow accuses London of a targeted disinformation campaign.
“Enemy Will Not Stop Attacking”
According to Ukrainian data, Russian troops in the Donbass are still aiming for the complete conquest of the Luhansk region. “The enemy does not stop attacking,” said the Ukrainian general staff. In particular, attempts are being made to encircle the strategically important cities of Sieverodonetsk and Lysychansk.
At the same time, Russia’s armed forces at Sievjerodonetsk also suffered particularly high losses, it said. This information cannot be independently verified. Fierce fighting also continued around the town of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
Meanwhile, Russia’s military reported that a Ukrainian warplane was shot down near Kramatorsk. In addition, a total of 36 Ukrainian military positions were fired at with rockets within 24 hours.
Three months after the war began, Russia’s army has focused primarily on attacks in the east of the neighboring country. Especially after the fall of the port city of Mariupol a few days ago, Ukraine now fears increased Russian offensives there.
