The gendarmerie of the Toulouse-Mirail company has launched an investigation against a man suspected of having stolen 60,000 euros in allowances from two disabled people.
The story would have started in 2020, when Nadia, 80% disabled, met Pierre on a dating site. Quickly, the latter, who calls himself a soldier, seemed to be interested in the bank account of his interlocutor.
Eager to prove to him that she was indeed receiving 1,800 euros in aid for her disability, Nadia would have connected to her CAF account from Pierre’s computer but would have “forgotten to disconnect”, she told The Dispatch.
A few days later, by consulting his accounts, the scammer would have offered his victim to help him pay a sum of 30,000 euros which she was supposed to pay to CAF. As the months pass, Nadia would no longer have received a monthly allowance. She is forced to lie to her relatives. “He was violent and wanted to control everything,” she added.
The grip would even have extended to Françoise, Nadia’s best friend also with a disability, from whom he would have stolen nearly 30,000 euros.
It was last February that the shenanigans ended. During an interview with a social worker, Nadia discovers that everything was wrong. “I have never been in debt with CAF. Pierre received my allowances on his account and used it to live, ”she said, before adding that he had done the same with his best friend Françoise.
Assisted by his lawyers, the victim filed a complaint with the Beauzelle gendarmerie.
