What happened on Sunday in a house in the chic district of La Terrasse, in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne)? An 84-year-old woman was found dead in her garage, in a pool of blood.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the traces discovered indicate that the victim would have dragged herself from her bathroom to the room where she died. No marks of blows or bullets were found on the body, reports La Dépêche.
However, the state in which the interior of the house was found and the preliminary analysis of the body by the medical examiner led the Toulouse prosecutor’s office to open a homicide investigation.
No track is excluded
The victim, octogenarian, had lived alone in her home since 2019, following the death of her husband. It was her son, who was visiting her for Easter, who discovered her around 10 a.m.
The facts that took place earlier in the morning, or the previous night, therefore remain mysterious for the moment. According to neighbors, the lady had no health problems and was moving very well. “I can’t imagine him killing himself,” a friend told our colleagues. According to her, the most probable hypothesis would be that of a theft which ended tragically: “As the house is very beautiful, it is possible that it came face to face with one or more burglars. From there, everything could go wrong.”
Investigators have not ruled out any leads so far.
