TF1 is broadcasting the last episodes of the first season of “Lycee Toulouse Lautrec” tonight. The series with China Thybaud and Stéphane De Groodt, which is inspired by a true story, will it be entitled to a season 2? First elements of response.
Broadcast every Monday on TF1, the Lycée Toulouse-Lautrec series is already a great success for TF1. But with only six episodes shot at the moment, the first season is already coming to an end this evening with the broadcast from 9:10 p.m. of the last two parts.
Led by Chine Thybaud, Ness Merad, Stéphane De Groodt, Valérie Karsenti and Rayane Bensetti, Lycée Toulouse-Lautrec follows the path of Victoire, a teenager who finds herself forced to go to school where her epileptic brother is educated.
This establishment is Toulouse Lautrec, a high school like no other where students with disabilities rub shoulders with able-bodied students, who serve as “referents” to their classmates and help them on a daily basis.
Over the course of the season, Victoire’s gaze, at first resistant to this new experience, ends up changing. And the teenager, who will forge very strong friendships with Marie-Antoinette or Charlie (Juliette Halloy), will discover solidarity, devotion and courage. But also love.
And while Lycée Toulouse-Lautrec, which is inspired by the true story of its creator Fanny Riedberger, ends tonight after an episode that takes place in Morocco and a very strong finale, can fans hope for a season 2?
A season 2 already being written
According to our information, the rest of the series is already in writing. But TF1 is waiting for the consolidated audiences of the three broadcast evenings (including replay) to officially order a season 2.
On the audience side, all the lights seem to be green for a second batch of episodes to see the light of day soon. Indeed, the first two episodes, broadcast on January 9 on TF1, attracted an average of 3.65 million viewers on watch, with a very good market share of 32.6% on the priority target of women responsible for purchasing. under 50 (FRDA-50).
And if the scores fell somewhat in week 2, with 3.12 million viewers and an audience share of 24.4% on the FRDA-50, TF1 can boast of having in its hands a new success since the figures for the launch of the series on D+7 are impressive.
Thanks to replay, the first two episodes of Lycée Toulouse-Lautrec each gained 1 million additional viewers, with audience share figures climbing to 39% among FRDA-50s, 34% among 25-49 year olds, and 36% among 15-34 year olds. This makes the series the best launch on target on D+7 for a French fiction on TF1 since 2006, excluding HPI.
Except surprise, Lycée Toulouse-Lautrec should therefore be entitled to a season 2 next year. And Stéphane De Groodt has already made progress since he told Var Marin that the filming of these new episodes would begin in the spring.
