Profile of the stage: Paris La Défense Arena – Paris Champs Elysées (115.6 km)
The Tour de France 2022 ends with the traditional finish on the Champs-Élysées but with an unprecedented start, given from Paris La Défense Arena. On the program, 115.6 km without great difficulty in the suburbs and with only one hill to climb, that of the Pavé des Gardes (1.3 km at 6.5%). A 4th category difficulty swallowed up a few moments before arriving in the streets of the capital. The peloton will complete eight grueling loops on cobblestones in the heart of Paris, passing some of the most beautiful monuments, the Louvre Pyramid or the Luxembourg Gardens. Like last year, the finish line has been moved 200 meters further than in the past.

The actual start is set at 4:45 p.m. and the estimated arrival at 7:34 p.m. with an average speed of 41 km/h.

The prognosis
A sprinter of course! It remains to be seen which one… After three weeks of effort, the best sprinter will not necessarily be the one who wins on the cobblestones of the Champs-Élysées but rather the one who will be the coolest. We will bet on Wout van Aert, the handyman of the Jumbo-Visma team who hovered over the 2022 edition with five victories in his pocket. The Belgian is capable of seeking a sixth crown for his training in Paris, impressive cohesion and who will be keen to launch the green jersey in the sprint.

Not to be missed on the course:
The Tour de France will start for the first time in its history from La Défense, but it will be a first in the unusual setting of Paris La Défense Arena where Racing 92 is playing in the Top 14. It is difficult to isolate a monument in Paris as the Ville Lumière conceals architectural treasures that will be admired during the broadcast. The capital will host its 48e arrival on the Champs-Élysées under the gaze of the majestic Arc de Triomphe.
