On the way home from a winter holiday in Flachau, a 46-year-old Dane remembered having left his Rolex in his apartment. Since the apartment didn’t have a safe, he had hidden the watch under the pillow. The contacted landlord initially said that he had not found a watch and referred to the cleaning staff. In the course of an interview by the police, however, it turned out that the 37-year-old landlord had found the watch himself and wanted to keep it. The landlord stated that he only made up the story about the cleaner. The watch, worth several thousand euros, was seized and the landlord was reported to the Salzburg public prosecutor for embezzlement.
