Tourists finally return to Paris


If attendance remains 30% below its pre-Covid level, the sector benefits from longer stays.

The Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum have regained their queues. The ballet of cruise ships has resumed on the Seine, and that of suitcases on wheels in the streets of the capital. After two years of falling activity due to the Covid, Parisian tourism is recovering, with its share of irritants. “We are delighted to see tourism picking up quite strongly, assures Frédéric Hocquard, assistant to Anne Hidalgo, in charge of tourism and nightlife. The attendance figures for Paris Musées and the Center des Monuments Nationaux are good. Those of the Eiffel Tower exceed, on certain evenings and weekends, their 2019 levels.»
