Tours: an unstable father suspected of a terrible act on his 22-year-old daughter

This Tuesday, April 11, a man was arrested in Tours, Indre-et-Loire. He is accused of having fatally stabbed his 22-year-old daughter 14 times all over his body, a police source said.

The tragedy occurred on Tuesday evening. According to our colleagues from francinfo, the police were alerted by a neighbor, reporting violence committed against a young woman. When they arrived at the scene, the police heard cries for help of a young woman. They then saw a man stabbing her on the ground floor of a building.

The young woman died on the spot

In order to quickly enter the apartment, one of the officers then shot at a glass door. They then uses a taser to arrest the suspect. Despite police resuscitation attempts, followed by emergency services, the victim was died at the scene of her injuries.

Delphine Amacher, the deputy public prosecutor of Tours, indicated in a press release published on Thursday April 13 that the 45-year-old man was already known to the police and justice services. He had been “convicted for old acts of violence and more recently for traffic offences”.

The day after the arrest, the Tours prosecutor’s office also confirmed the death of the young woman and the placement in police custody of a person, without however specifying the sex. “Police custody is in its first hours, I do not have all the information, and I do not wish to hinder the investigation“, explained to AFP the deputy public prosecutor of Tours, and to add: “The victim would not be the spouse of the defendant”. The autopsy performed on the victim’s body revealed that theth death is linked to stab wounds.
