Huawei is preparing its next generation of foldable book-format smartphone, titled Huawei Mate X3. According to leaker Wangzai Knows Everything (via NotebookCheck), this model would have passed the prototype phase, which would mean that its commercialization and launch are approaching. It would just enter the mass production phase.

This time, it would not be a smartphone folding inwards, like the Huawei Mate Xs 2, but a format similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. A choice that seems much more in phase with the standards in place.

4G yes, but maybe cheaper

The phone would include a foldable screen of about 8 inches as well as an external screen, the specifics of which are still unknown. Huawei could concede an effort on the price compared to its previous generation, which would make it easier to accept the probable presence of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in 4G only.

Remember that Huawei should also deal with more and more competitors in the book foldable segment. In addition to Samsung, it is rumored that Honor could bring its Magic Vs to France, as well as Oppo with its Find N2.

It should also be remembered that Huawei still does not integrate Google services into its phones because of the American embargo. There’s no reason for that to change on this phone, which, if released in Europe, shouldn’t feature HarmonyOS either.
