Fans of the Platinum Games studio, you certainly cursed very loudly when Scalebound was officially cancelled. Unfortunately, just under three years later, the project was canceled by Microsoft itself. The American company then announced that it wanted to invest more time and money in several other strong licenses in its catalogs. Years later, in 2020, Platinum Games admits that it wants to complete the development of this project that takes its teams to heart. Then, in 2022, the studio announced that it wanted to talk to Microsoft about it, hoping that the company would give it a chance to complete, once and for all, Scalebound. Nothing happens.
From bitter failure to winning rebirth?
However, today, a new echo in this story full of disappointment. And it might bring hope back. It is Shpeshal_Nickfrom the Xbox Era site, which announces it: according to him, Microsoft and Platinum would be working on the return of Scalebound. Still, the gentleman does not have the slightest idea of the direction that the project would take. Total reboot or continuity of what was planned by the developer? Hard to say.
