Fans of “Toy Story”, “Frozen” and “Zoomania” can rejoice: new films from the universe of these Disney hits are in the works.

Disney apparently continues to rely on the tried-and-tested franchises for animated films. CEO Bob Iger (71) explained according to “The Hollywood Reporter”that further offshoots of “Toy Story”, “Frozen” and “Zoomania” are in the works. Iger told investors these future films are an example of “how we leverage our unrivaled brands.” It is not yet known what the new adventures will be about and which stars will be present as speakers.

Great hits since the 90s

There have been four “Toy Story” films to date, the first of which was released in 1995. “Toy Story 4” grossed over one billion US dollars at the box office in 2019. The spin-off “Lightyear” was added last year, but according to media reports it went worse than expected.

“Frozen 2” was a big hit in 2019 with $1.4 billion. Already part one, “Frozen – Totally Unabashed” came to 1.2 billion US dollars in 2013. Fans have been waiting for a “Zoomania” sequel for years. This animated film also grossed over $1 billion at the box office in 2016.
