Disney and Pixar illuminate the young "Toy Story" hero Buzz Lightyear in an animated film. Chris Evans will lend him his voice.

From Captain America to Buzz Lightyear: Chris Evans (39), known in recent years for his role as the superhero in numerous films such as "Avengers: Endgame", will lend his voice to the popular animation character. Disney and the animation company Pixar, which belongs to the group, have now announced this.

According to the previous four parts of the "Toy Story" series, "Lightyear" hit theaters on June 17, 2022. It is a prequel that aims to tell the story of the young Buzz Lightyear.

A dream comes true for Evans

For a first picture from the new film, Evans writes on Instagram that working with Pixar was a dream come true. "I was a huge fan of your films from the start," explains the actor. For him there was only one Buzz Lightyear before, his colleague Tim Allen (67, "Listen who's hammering"), who had breathed life into the character in the previous films.

"Believe me when I say they REALLY know what they're doing over there." The film will be "special". "I can't put my excitement into words. I have to grin every time I think about it," said the Hollywood star happily.
